THE FUTURE OF HOUSING COMPLEX PROJECT

Housing complex

A revitalization project for an over 50-year-old housing complex. Issues such as aging and unsuitability for a modern living environment were carefully identified and addressed with design solutions. A bright and airy plaza was created with a lawn covering the sprawling common area, a characteristic of the complex. Fences, walls, and stairs were all removed. Randomized wooden louvers were placed on the balconies of the residential building to harmonize with the plaza. Outdoor furniture based on the “Future of Housing Complex Project” logo Sato designed himself was installed in various places to make the outdoor space a more iconic area.
