Press Conference for the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025

The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD, one of the world's most prestigious design prizes for young international talent, is announcing a new, strong partnership for 2025: iF Design, the Basque province of Bizkaia, its capital Bilbao and the Department of Culture and Language Policy are pursuing a clear goal with their collaboration – to promote and support young design talent.

The focus of the cooperation is on the organization of the central international Awards Ceremony of the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025 on 20June 2025 at the Guggenheim Museum, where around 300 young designers from around 20 nations are expected to attend. Every year, around 10,000 concepts from 72 countries are submitted into the competition for young designers. An international, independent jury of experts awards the coveted label and EUR 50,000 in prize money.

Registration will close on 5 February 2025

Submissions for the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025 can be registered online until 5 February 2025. The award categories correspond to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The concepts should demonstrate solutions to the most pressing global challenges of our time.

Together with EIDE Basque Design, iF Design is organizing a two-day program for the international winners of the award to demonstrate Bilbao's diversity and expertise as a design location: In addition to visiting the design universities and renowned agencies, the program also includes a panel discussion and a Meet & Greet networking event on the evening before the Awards Ceremony. The winner party will take place on 20 June 2025 on the big stage at the Guggenheim Museum.

Also, on site in June 2025 will be representatives of the long-standing, renowned international sponsors of the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD: the brands GROHE from Germany, Wonderland and Compal Electronics from Taiwan and Casarte from China.
